Please Help Us Remember?

The trail that leads to the summit of Sharp Top Mountain is one of the most traveled within the Blue Ridge Park system. Thousands of hikers each year walk unknowingly within a few hundred yards of the wreckage of a mighty B25 Bomber where five brave U.S. Airmen died a fiery death in 1943. NO MARKER or MEMORIAL of any kind exists to honor these heroes! "Officially" they remain forgotten.

Please help us raise awareness of this missing part of Virginia's history. We need to make local, State, and Federal officials aware of the need to mark this place of honor. A small memorial or plaque is little payment for such total sacrifice!

Please make others aware of this need by directing them to this web site. We welcome your interest and support!

Show your support by signing our guest book. We will make certain the appropriate officials see your comments and concerns.

NOTE:
Donations have made it possible to purchase a plaque that will be mounted at the crash site June 2, 2001.

Thanks for your support!
