"Thank you for a wonderful experience. It's great to see that the British tradition of B&B is alive and well in the USA. After experiencing only hotels during our first visit to America it was so nice to meet real Americans & experience your warm and friendly hospitality.

 History of Center town Bedford
"Center town Bedford's inclusion in the Bedford Historic District of the National Register of Historic Places is no accident. From the intersection of Main and Bridge Streets, you'll see a scene that remains largely unchanged from the turn of the century. Most of the structures in this part of town were built in the 1880's and 1890's. replacing the older wooden buildings lost in the devastating fire of 1884. Downtown Bedford's architecture predominantly reflects the Italianate style, although there are notable exceptions. The Italianate style is know for its use of rectangular shapes and ornate window details, as well as a wide variety of arches and decorative cornices. The beauty of Bedford's architecture is not merely skin-deep; the interiors of several of the downtown shops boast pressed-tin ceilings, glass block windows and original cage elevators. Although many of the facades have been modernized, original shop-fronts with transoms, sidelights, columns and intriguing decorative details can still be found by the observant. So whether you're an architecture buff or simply passing through, be sure to explore the striking interiors and exteriors that show off the unique craftsmanship of Bedford's Historic Center town area. The city of Bedford is also the County Seat for Bedford County"
